Lean Times, Fun Times
With a second Great Depression looming on the horizon it may be a good time to make some spending
cutbacks. As Stephen Colbert put it, “The days of lining your hamster cage with hundreds are long gone.” But don’t get too bummed out, there are still plenty of inexpensive ways to have fun in these “lean times.” If you are one of those people who hit the bar on pay day, this is the quickest way to flush that hard earned money down the drain. A cheaper alternative can be to invite friends over to the house. Food and drinks will be way cheaper and you will still have a blast.
Sorry, but the $100 weekend golf round may need to be cut dude. However, there are so many outdoor activities that cost nothing. Surfing is a great poor man’s sport in times of famine. If you don’t have a board, go steal one. You can spend literal hours of stress free fun time on a surfboard and the ocean is free (at some places for a limited time only).

Turn off the TV and quit buying stuff. You really don’t need any more Billy Blanks products. If you must buy something in the middle of the night off TV at least make it a cool buy like a U.S. Mint coin made from real World Trade Center wreckage, ooh or a Spacebag!
